The Silver Spring Jewish Center (Congregation “Ahavas Yisrael”), founded by Rabbi Chaim Herzl z”l and Rebbetzin Miriam Tzivia a”h Kranz, is one of the oldest Orthodox synagogues in Silver Spring, MD.
The shul is home to the Silver Spring Learning Center nursery school, Leo Bernstein Jewish Academy (“JAFA”) elementary school, a mikvah, and the Chofetz Chaim Kollel & Beis Medrash. The shul also serves as the center of numerous community chesed projects.
